Healthcare Growth Executive Tanvir Mangat Joins Kindbridge Behavioral Health Advisory Board

Nearly two decades of healthcare growth strategy, now focused on getting behavioral addiction treatment into the places people actually look for care.

Denver, CO — August 18th, 2026 — Kindbridge Behavioral Health has appointed Tanvir Mangat, a healthcare strategy and growth executive with nearly two decades of experience at Optum, CVS Health, Walgreens, Premise Health, and Sinai Health System, to its advisory board. Mangat will serve as Kindbridge’s Employer Channel and Growth Strategy Advisor, helping the company expand access to treatment for gambling, gaming, and other behavioral addictions through employers, benefits programs, and worksite health partners.

The appointment reflects a deliberate shift in where behavioral addiction care gets delivered. Gambling and gaming disorders are widely acknowledged and rarely treated, and for many working adults, the employer is the front door to whatever mental health benefit they use.

About Tanvir Mangat

Tanvir Mangat is Senior Vice President of Growth at Health by Design, which provides executive health and concierge medicine to members alongside onsite, nearsite, and virtual care for self-insured organizations. Much of his career has been spent at the point where healthcare meets the employer.

  • Premise Health — Vice President of Growth Strategy at the nation’s largest provider of direct healthcare services to self-insured employers
  • Optum Health, East Region — Chief Strategy and Growth Officer, leading growth strategy and large-scale M&A for an $8B business unit across nine states
  • CVS Health — Enterprise Strategy and Business Development
  • Walgreen Co. — Senior Director of Corporate Innovation, where he built new healthcare business models and co-founded the company’s $150M corporate venture fund
  • Sinai Health System, Chicago — Chief Strategy Officer for an approximately 800-bed safety-net system serving a catchment area of more than one million people across Chicago’s South and West Sides
  • Lore Health — Business Development Executive at a resilience-focused platform built on generative AI and community access
  • Strategos (Principal) and Arthur Andersen (Manager) — strategy and innovation consulting, including global Fortune 100 clients at Strategos

He holds an MA in International Finance from the University of Chicago, where he was a Woodrow Wilson Fellow, and a BA in Economics from Trinity University in San Antonio.

What will he advise on?

Mangat’s remit is focused on distribution and discipline, getting Kindbridge’s clinical care in front of the people who need it, through the channels that already reach them.

  1. Employer and EAP go-to-market. How Kindbridge packages, prices, and positions behavioral addiction services for benefits leaders, EAPs, and workplace wellness programs.
  2. Partnership models. Where specialty behavioral addiction care can be embedded inside direct healthcare, advanced primary care, worksite clinic, and retail health offerings, as a referral pathway or an integrated service.
  3. Growth planning. Market prioritization, business development sequencing, and partnership economics, stress-tested against enterprise standards.
  4. Network access. Selective introductions across employer health, benefits consulting, and health system networks.

Why the employer channel matters here

Self-insured employers absorb the cost of untreated addiction directly in healthcare spend and in productivity. Behavioral addictions are rarely screened for and rarely diagnosed, so they seldom surface in claims data, which means the cost is real but largely invisible to the people managing the benefit.

“Healthcare’s infrastructure is built around a small set of diagnosable, billable conditions. Digital addiction doesn’t fit neatly into any one category or user segment, so no part of the system ends up owning it.”

Tanvir Mangat

That gap is the opening. Kindbridge has prioritized the EAP and workplace wellness channel for exactly this reason, and Mangat’s experience at Premise Health and Health by Design maps directly onto how those buyers evaluate and integrate a new service.

In his words

“Digital platforms have transformed how we live and interact, but that shift has come with real, unaddressed consequences for mental health. Gambling, gaming, shopping, and social media addiction are some of the most underserved problems in healthcare today, and Kindbridge is positioned to actually solve it at scale, not just talk about it.”

Tanvir Mangat

“We’ve never had a problem convincing people that gambling and gaming addiction are real. The hard part is getting treatment into the places where people already look for help. Tanvir has built that path before, at some of the biggest healthcare organizations in the country, and he’s chosen to build it here.”

Frequently asked questions

Who is Tanvir Mangat?

Tanvir Mangat is a healthcare strategy and growth executive, currently Senior Vice President of Growth at Health by Design. He has held senior strategy and business development roles at Optum Health, CVS Health, Walgreens Co., Premise Health, and Sinai Health System in Chicago. In August, he joined the advisory board of Kindbridge Behavioral Health as Employer Channel and Growth Strategy Advisor.

What is Tanvir Mangat’s role at Kindbridge Behavioral Health?

He serves as an advisor on employer channel strategy, advising Kindbridge on how it packages and positions behavioral addiction treatment for EAPs, benefits leaders, and workplace wellness programs, and on partnership models with direct healthcare, advanced primary care, and worksite clinic organizations. The role is advisory and carries no clinical or supervisory responsibilities.

What is behavioral addiction, and how does it differ from substance addiction?

Behavioral addiction describes compulsive engagement in a behavior that continues despite mounting harm to a person’s finances, relationships, work, or health. Gambling disorder is a recognized DSM-5 diagnosis; gaming disorder is recognized in ICD-11. Compulsive patterns around pornography, shopping, and social media are widely observed clinically but are not formal diagnoses. Because no substance is ingested, these presentations are frequently missed in standard behavioral health screening.

Can employers offer treatment for gambling or gaming addiction?

Yes. Employers can offer behavioral addiction treatment through EAPs, benefits programs, and workplace wellness partnerships. Kindbridge works directly with employers and health systems to make specialty behavioral addiction care available to employees and their families. Learn more at kindbridge.com/business.

Who is on the Kindbridge Behavioral Health advisory board?
